Agreement to Supply Data Concentrator Units for Marine Corps’ Heavy-Lift Rotorcraft

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – May 7, 2009 – Curtiss-Wright Controls Inc., the motion controls segment of Curtiss-Wright Corporation, has been awarded a contract by Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation to develop and supply the data concentrator units (DCUs) for the CH-53K heavy-lift helicopter under development for use by the U.S. Marine Corps.

The contract has a potential value of $22 million when development and all aircraft production options and phases are completed. The initial contract runs through 2011 with the production phase starting in 2013.

"The data concentrator units we intend to supply Sikorsky for CH-53K helicopters represent the latest rotorcraft contract bolstering our core military aerospace business," said David Adams, co-chief operating officer of Curtiss-Wright Corporation. "As with other products we provide to our airframe customers, these units are a crucial component for flight safety, especially in harsh environments."

Curtiss-Wright Controls' system consists of two DCUs that will receive and provide various avionic and air vehicle discrete, digital and analog inputs for monitoring, passing through data and controlling various CH-53K subsystem components.

Curtiss-Wright Controls will develop and manufacture the DCU systems at its City of Industry, Calif., facility, which recently opened to accommodate the growth in demand for integrated sensing products.
