The Curtiss-Wright Controls - Avionics & Electronics (CWC-AE) KAM-500 is a compact, rugged and highly adaptable modular airborne data acquisition system.
The KAM-500 Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) is an airborne acquisition and transmission system that consists of a chassis and user selected modules. There are over a hundred modules available that support advanced signal conditioning, avionics bus monitoring, video/audio compression, integrated data logging and multiple output formats. This highly configurable system enables fully customized systems to be built using commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) product.
The KAM-500 DAU is driven by hardwired finite state machines making it extremely reliable. Its compact, low power design makes it ideal for installing in locations that have limited space while its MIL-SPEC environmental ruggedness means it can operate in the harshest environments. The KAM-500 DAU achieves high performance by utilizing a 100% digital architecture to support a throughput of up to 64Mbps per unit, aggregating up to gigabit per second throughput for a network distributed system.
